Harrison Retiring?

This past week Steelers linebacker James Harrison was fined $75,000 for two hwlwmt to helmet hits against the Browns. After the fine he was asked about what he thought about the fine and he said he was thinking about retirement. Harrison said, "I play to hurt people." This is what the players signed up for. Hard hitting is part of the game and the NFL wants to change that by giving players fines and suspensions. If this is the way the NFL is going to deal with the situation then they are gonna have less players because they will stop playing if they cant play the way they want to. Big Hits are going to happen and if some player cannot handle it then maybe they shouldnt be on the field. This is football. It's a mens sport and violence is part of it.

Helmet to Helmet

This past weekend in the NFL there were many violent hits that occured on Sunday. Two took place in the Steelers vs Browns game that involved linebacker James Harrison. The hits were pretty devestating to the Browns players'. Harrison put a hit on Browns receiver Joshua Cribbs that had him laying on the ground for a few minutes. The other hit by Harrison was on another Browns receiver that had hisbody body bending in the opposite direction and then was laying on the ground. The other hit happened in the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Atlanta Falcons game. Eagles receiver Desean Jackson  was layed out by defensive back Duanta Robinson that had Jackson knocked out and was laying pretty much unconscious for awhile. so, to help correct all of these helmet to helmet hits the NFL is having a press conference later this week and they will address the situation. I believe that the helmets are used as a weapon and nothing will ever change that. Let's wait and see what the NFL has to say.

Big Ben is back

Big Ben will make his much anticipated return this Sunday at Heinz Field when the steelers play host to the hated cleveland browns. After 5 weeks Ben has begun to practice agian with the team and is gettin ready to get back on the playing field where he has been missed for the first four weeks of the season. Now that Big Ben is back with the steelers we will see how dominant we really are. We did well without him, but I think we are just going to run through teams in the NFL with ben back and our nasty defense.

HERE WE GO STEELERS!!!!

Buccos Fire Manager

This past week the Pittsburgh Pirates parted ways with manager John Russell after only 3 seasons at the helm. Russell never won more than 70 games with the Pirates and GM Neal Huntington decided that it was time to let him go. Maybe the Huntingtons finally realized that a new manager would help along with some better players added to the roster. This past season was the worst for Russell, with a record of 57-105 and last place again in the NL Central. Hopefully the Buccos will find better a manager and have a .500 or maybe perhaps a winning recored and the city of Pittsburgh will have something else to celebrate.

MOSS back to MINNY

Yesterday, the New England Patriots traded their best WR randy moss back to his original team the Minnesota Vikings. They traded him away for a 3rd round draft pick in the 2011 draft. Moss made it clear that he did not want to be in  New England anymore after this season. Moss is reunited with his first team and is now paired up with Brett Favre. This is now one of the more dangerous QB- WR combos in the NFL. They decided to part ways with Randy after the Pats Monday night win over the Dolphins where Moss had no catches the entire game. Randy said this would be his last year in New England, but I dont think it was going to end so quickly. He is now back in Minnesota looking to make a run at a Super Bowl with one of the greatest QB's of all time. We shall see how it all pans out at the end of the seasson.

Steelers Game

This Sunday will be one of the greatest games of the NFL season. The Steelers take on the hated Baltimore Ravens at Heinz Field this sunday.  This has become one of the biggest rivalaries in the NFL the last 10 years. All you have to say is Ravens vs Steelers and everybody knows its going to be a hard hitting defensive battle. These two teams hate each other and that's why it makes for such an intense heated rivalry. I personally cannot stand Ray Lewis and the Ravens because I'm a Steeler fan. Its going to be a street fight on Sunday at the big ketchup bottle and the team with the best defense will win. And the Steelers obviuously have the better defense and better team so we will win no matter what.
HERE WE GO STEELERS!!!!

The Hometown KID

This past Sunday, 9/26/10, the Pittsburgh Steelers improved their record to 3-0. Behind the great performance of Charlie Batch we manhandled the Tampa Bay Buccaners. The Big Nasty D showed up yet again and pounded the Bucs offense allowing only 13 points. But, the main story was Batch; when he showed the NFL that he still got it. He threw for 3 TD's and was no back up on Sunday. He was a true starter and showed that he was no chump. The steelers will be 4-0 after this Sunday when he leads us to victory against the hated Ravens.
HERE WE GO STEELERS!!!!

MNF

Monday NIght Football was a great game between the Saints and 49ers. the game started off with a safety for the saints and they lead 2-0. The Saints were pretty much dominating the entire game until the fourth quarter. Thats when it got interesting. The Saints were winning 19-14 and added another field goal to make it 22-14 with about 6 minutes left. The 49ers got the ball back with 3 minutes remaining and wqent right down the field and scored with a frank gore TD. 22-21 Saints.  49ers go for two, but the ref says the ball didnt cross the goaline. they reviewed it and it clearly showed Vernon Davis was across the plane. Tied at 22 the Saints got the ball with more than enough time (1:32). Brees and the saints drive right down the field and were ready to win the game with a field goal. The saints won 25-22 on one of the ugliest field goal attempts I have ever seen. I looked like the kick was blocked, but the kicker just hit it worng and it went wobbling through the uprights for the win. Just proves that it not over til its over. The saints thought they had the win, but the 49ers came back and the Saints had to do extra work to get the win. It's not over until there are triple 0:00 (Final) on the clock.
